I choose joy, light and Cheese

What a week this has been! The winery where I work, Pride Mountain Vineyards, made it (barely) through the Glass Fire- with burn scar all the way up to the perimeter of the property and a little into the outer vineyards. We are So. Damn. Lucky. (also the title of one my favorite Dave Matthews songs…)

As I mentioned in my message last week, many of our neighboring residents and wineries on our mountain were not so lucky, and as the hero firefighters approach 60% containment on the fires as of today, our focus now shifts to helping the community heal.

Wine country and its people are RESILIENT. But it won’t happen overnight. So for now, we will look for the little moments of joy and light as we can find them, and use it to guide us all in the journey back to “normalcy”.

We’ve had a livestream planned for over a month, where I will be interviewing Janet Fletcher, a well known author/journalist, blogger and educator about one of my most FAVORITE things on the planet…. CHEESE!

If that can’t bring a much-needed smile to our faces, I don’t know what can. (And of course we’ll be pairing her specially selected cheeses with our fabulous Pride wines)… Check out her website http://www.janetfletcher.com. I love her recipes and class offerings, both virtual and in person.

So in choosing JOY and LIGHT, we chose to move forward with this Friday’s Live Stream on the Pride Mountain Vineyards Facebook page at 7PM EST/ 4 PM PST. Like and follow Pride here for updates and to view live (or after the fact)… https://www.facebook.com/pridewines/. If you are on live, be sure to comment and say hello so I know you’re there!

Want some other ways you can support your friends here in wine county? Buy Napa and Sonoma wines. And buy them Directly- from your favorite producer's websites. Plan a trip here in the near future- and help this beautiful region rebound and rebuild.

Sip Well,

Nikki
